Kobe Bryant was flat out ridiculous last night. He scored 49 points and dished out 10 assists in the Lakers double digit win over the Denver Nuggets. Most importantly, this gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead in this series that now goes to Denver.
Kobe came out ON FIRE hitting for 20 in the 1Q and at one point connecting for 10 straight Fieldgoals. He then showed WHY he is MVP and started dishing the ball in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Guys were jumping at him and he was finding the open man. Then there was the 4th quarter. Kobe just put the Lakers on his back and said, “Let’s go!” He dominated scoring something like 16 of 17 straight points and just schooling anyone and everyone in his way. Jumpers, slashing to the hoop, free throws, bank floaters, 3 point bombs, everything! He showed a little of the LA/Hollywood sizzle when he pulled out his finger guns and blew them out and put them back in his holster after hitting 5-6 straight shots. Kobe also started jawing at JR Smith who apparently wasn’t impressed with Kobe’s efforts. All I can say is, FOOL. DO NOT fire up Kobe Bryant.
49 was just one point shy of his career playoff high. Most impressively is that Kobe scored 49 on 18-27 shooting. That is absurd! MVP chants were loud and clear through the Staples Center every time Mr. Bryant went to the line. I must say, Kobe is a stud and the rest of the NBA better recognize!
